About Us

Acton Firewise Inc. was built right here in Acton, where wildfire risk isn’t theoretical. Our community sits in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, with rural properties, large parcels, and homes that face real exposure to wind-driven fire.

What started as neighbors looking out for one another has grown into a working nonprofit focused on one thing: helping residents take practical action to reduce wildfire risk.

We work directly with homeowners and neighborhoods to create defensible space, guide home hardening, and build recognized Firewise USA communities. From on-site risk assessments to hands-on mitigation projects, our goal is simple: help people understand what matters, fix what’s vulnerable, and stay insurable in a changing fire environment.

A key part of this work is supporting seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and residents on fixed incomes—making sure cost or physical limitations don’t prevent them from protecting their homes.

We also connect residents with resources they often don’t know how to access. This includes coordination with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, partnerships with the American Red Cross, and education around insurance requirements and inspections.

To date, Acton Firewise has helped organize communities representing hundreds of homes and continues to support residents with real, on-the-ground solutions. In a place like Acton, preparedness isn’t a checklist. It’s something you build and maintain together.
